Coming together
The course and its' objectives are came together for me more clearly with this weeks' work. I've always been a 'big picture' person, so I've always found it challenging as a student to focus on details. But the reading, etc. are certainly falling into place, and I have more ideas for my teaching as a result that go beyond the course goals.

Week 3: I think I'm finally getting the gist of this PBL :)! As one class member said, she understood her statistics questions and could get to the correct conclusion---but couldn't explain HOW. I know what BPL is and I know how I want to use it in my classes--but I struggle at the language of it all. Really interesting course!

Posting for Unit 2--2/14/2010
Basically, I've found this 2nd week more involved/challenging than the 1st! It took me abit, and I'm still not sure I have the competency concepts down, to organize my ideas. Was also aware what I chose will be the main thrust of the rest of the course, so I want(ed) to be certain to do it correctly. I know what I want to accomplish--learning to do it by PBI will be interesting!

Unit #1 comments
First--I loved the 'Somewhere...' video! Also the Robust vs. not segment--now that's my kind of learning--interactive, and as Tom Richie said, 'fun is OK!!'
Next: as Andrea already knows (!) I'm finding navigating BB abit frustrating. It's almost like 2 courses: how to study online and Course #50. But I'm determined to conquer both :)!
Enjoyed reading fellow students discussion and assignments as so many varied--yet very similar as well--responses and comments. My main focus is to reach ALL my students as I get such big variety of them. Look forward to learning more!
